Hey fam! 👋
Big news out of Anbernic this week: the company has officially announced its newest handheld, the Anbernic RG476H, and it looks like one of their most ambitious devices to date. Powered by the Unisoc T820 processor and running Android 13, this handheld blends premium hardware with modern features that push beyond Anbernic’s usual retro-focused offerings.
A Familiar Yet Improved Display 📱⚡
At the heart of the RG476H is a 4.7-inch LTPS In-Cell display, boasting OCA full lamination, 1280×960 resolution, and an impressive 120Hz refresh rate.

If that sounds familiar, that’s because it’s the same fantastic screen found in the RG Slide and RG 477M. Both of those devices earned praise for their visual quality, but the inline shoulder buttons held them back. The RG476H ditches that setup in favor of stacked shoulder buttons like a PlayStation controller, making it far more comfortable for extended play sessions.
Under the Hood ⚙️
The RG476H packs a powerful set of internals for its size:
CPU: Unisoc T820 (6nm EUV 5G SoC)
GPU: Quad-core Mali-G57, 850MHz
RAM: 8GB LPDDR4X
Storage: 128GB UFS 2.2 (expandable up to 2TB via TF card)
Battery: 5000mAh (approx. 6 hours of gameplay)
System: Android 13

Connectivity includes 5G Wi-Fi, Bluetooth 5.0, and dual USB-C ports that support 1080p display output.
Controls, Audio, and Build 🎮🔊
Large-angle 3D Hall joystick for smoother and more precise input
Stacked shoulder buttons for a more console-like feel
High fidelity dual speakers plus a 3.5mm headphone jack
RGB lighting with 16 million colors and multiple modes

All of this comes together in a handheld that feels like one of Anbernic’s most future-proof designs yet.
AI and Smart Features 🤖
The RG476H also introduces some AI-driven extras:
One-click game guide retrieval
Real-time translation
Intelligent dialogue
Text-to-image generation

That’s not something you usually see in this price class.
Wide Compatibility 🕹️
The handheld supports both native Android games (like Genshin Impact, Honor of Kings, etc.) and a wide array of emulated systems:
Modern: PS2, Wii, NGC, 3DS, PSP, DC, SS, PS1, NDS, N64
Retro: GBA, GBC, GB, SFC, FC, MD, SMS, MSX, PCE, WSC, Arcade, NeoGeo, and more

Dual-screen support for DS/3DS games is another standout feature that handheld fans will definitely appreciate.
Release Date and Pricing Speculation 📅💵
So far, Anbernic has not confirmed a release date or price. Based on hardware and past launches, my best guess is around US$150 at launch, with preorders likely opening on Friday, September 19th or 26th.

First Thoughts
Between the Slide-quality screen, stacked shoulder buttons, and T820 power, the RG476H is shaping up to be a strong addition to Anbernic’s lineup. While not their single most future-proof handheld, it’s certainly one of the most forward-looking devices they’ve ever announced.
Anbernic has confirmed that this will be released on Friday, September 19th, and will have an early bird pricing of US$149.99, and after that it will go up by US$15 to US$164.99.
